Cynical On Waking takes you back to the Diana Anaid that first shocked Australia. With tuning reminiscent of her very first album, this track features the unique heavy handed guitar bashing and honest lyrics which she has become known for.

It is about losing your identity to the ebb and flow of rock n roll and enduring the endless hours of touring, interviews and alcohol. While missing home and her son, Diana wrote Cynical On Waking in a hotel room, in the early hours of the morning.

With no overdubs and sticking to the organic sound of only acoustic & electric guitars, bass and drums Cynical On Waking is raw, full of attitude and exactly how you would hear it live.
