Some two and a half years after the release of his Mercury nominated debut album ‘Panic Prevention’, and almost 2 years to the day since his last Australian visit, JAMIE T and his band THE PACEMAKERS are set to return to our wintry shores this coming September for a highly anticipated national tour.

Emerging as somewhat of a Brit Phenomenon from the thriving south London music scene in mid 2006, JAMIE T’s eclectic, guitar-wielding approach and penchant for telling yarns has spawned a spread of intriguing hit singles.  From ‘Calm Down Dearest’, to the melancholy ‘Sheila’, to the reggae rock of ‘If You've Got The Money’, his music reflects a kind of artistic freedom, cheekiness and intelligence that has established him as natural born talent with ever growing record sales, and an ever expanding fan base.

But it’s on the stage that his talent for infectious, gritty melodies shines brightest. Equal parts Joe Strummer and Dizzee Rascal, JAMIE T narrates witty, filthy, sometimes tragic tales of London life peppered with clever wordplay.  With his master craftsmen THE PACEMAKERS by his side, Australian audiences will be among the first in the world to hear the old hits alongside material from the new album this coming September.

Precursor to the album is the forthcoming 4 track taster - The ‘Sticks ‘N’ Stones’ EP.  Set to be released digitally on June 26th (with the title track already a triple j hit), the ep is a brilliant work in its own right and paves the way for JAMIE T’s highly anticipated sophomore release ‘Kings And Queens’.  Recorded between his garden shed studio and a higher-spec East London recording space, the forthcoming album (due out sometime in September) is an eleven track feast that promises to be bolder, more mature and broader in its influence.

So with a new album in tow, JAMIE T AND THE PACEMAKERS return to Australia this coming September, and with a live show that’s joyously shambolic … it’s a deliciously entertaining place to hang out for a while.
