March 13th 2009 will see the inaugural "Australian Fleadh", a festival of Irish music and culture in Melbourne. With a line up of top Irish and Australian performers, this promises to be a show to remember.
Damien Dempsey:
Damien's 5th studio album "The Rocky Road" marked a departure for this critically acclaimed, No. 1 selling singer and songwriter who released this collection of traditional Irish songs and modern classics to critical acclaim and which went straight to No.1 in the Irish charts. Damien's collection of Meteor Awards include both Best Irish Male and also Best Traditional / Folk and his roots in traditional music can be clearly felt in his own compositions on his previous albums. Damien says; "Ballads are my roots, it was the first music that turned me on, and the first songs that I heard being sung in my home by friends and family".

Declan O'Rourke:
Having spent his childhood years in Victoria this is a homecoming of sorts. Declan used to be one of Ireland’s best kept secrets but rave reviews for his debut album ‘Since Kyabram’, a growing international fanbase and an enviable collection of eminent devotees, including Paul Weller, Snow Patrol and Kate Rusby, are rapidly changing that. “Singing in a velvet-tinged baritone with a killer falsetto….it’s a rare gift that his music can bear comparison with so many classic era troubadours, Fred Neil, Jackson Browne and Bruce Springsteen while still sounding so completely original” Nigel Williamson, Uncut. Declan's latest release is "Big Bad Beautiful World'.

Gary Og:
Gary Og is a Scottish born Irish singer with an immensely powerful voice. After parting ways with legendary Glasgow rebel band Eire Og, he took to the road and has toured extensively. His St. Patrick's Day shows in New York City have become legend so we are lucky to have him here for this show. He has toured Australia three times and has won over many new fans as a result. Gary will have his band with him for the Fleadh so hold onto your Guinness!
